The record · Q4 2026
Dexterous hands run from $2,066 to $110,000. The spread is the story.
Ten hands, five suppliers, and every public price we could find attached to a channel and a date. Where the numbers disagree, both are printed. Where nobody publishes one, the field stays empty and says so.

Dexterous hand price index: Q4 2026 baseline
A quarterly, source-logged price panel for dexterous robot hands. The Q4 2026 edition is a baseline: sample frame, field schema and dated observations. No index number.
Price record
Inspire RH56: a 98% price drop export buyers never got
Domestic list prices for the RH56 line fell from more than 1,000,000 RMB to about 20,000 RMB in five years. The same hand still sells for $5,600 to $20,599 in the United States.
Price record
LEAP Hand: $2,066 for 16 motors, $4,550 for 8
The v2 costs 120% more than the v1 kit and has half as many motors, because the extra money buys compliance and a one-hour-shorter build rather than more joints.
Price record
Allegro Hand: six prices, four labels, no trend line
Public Allegro figures run from $13,000 to $21,450. The 43% spread is a labeling problem, not a price increase, and this page refuses to turn it into a chart.

The same hand, three prices, and what the difference buys
An Inspire RH56DFX was listed at $5,600, $10,500 and $20,599 in the same year. The gap is not a scam and it is not a currency effect. It is a bundle.
Analysis · 2026-11-06
The ratio that caps the dexterous hand market
When a pair of hands costs more than the humanoid they attach to, the humanoid cannot hit its price. That arithmetic, not technology, is pushing hand prices down.
Analysis · 2026-11-06
What hand spec sheets leave out, and why it costs money
Fifty kilograms of load. Twenty newtons of fingertip force. A million cycles. Three numbers, three different kinds of claim, one table.

What a dexterous hand costs per actuated degree of freedom
Dividing public prices by actuated DOF gives a range of $129 to $1,500, an 11.6x spread that tracks control electronics, not finger count.
Why every price has a letter
A number without a source is a rumor with a currency symbol. Each observation is graded by what stands behind it, and a disagreement between two credible sources is published rather than averaged into a third number that nobody ever quoted.
A Documented
A vendor or dealer page naming the product, observed on a stated date.
B Conflicting
Two public sources differ by more than 15%. Both numbers appear.
C Estimated
Press figure or third-party snapshot with no vendor page behind it.
D Quote only
No public price, or no attributable source. The field stays empty.
Follow the changes, not the news
One email when a record or a published price changes, plus the quarterly panel. Four or five messages a year. No vendor news, no sponsored placements.
