The 2026 dexterous hand price collapse, in six numbers
The dexterous hand price collapse took the average from 50,000 RMB to under 10,000 in two years. Six dated numbers, and the buyers who never saw that price.
The short version
The dexterous hand price collapse runs from more than 1,000,000 RMB a unit before 2020 to about 20,000 RMB in 2024-25 for one model line, and from a 50,000 RMB industry average to under 10,000 RMB in two years. The export channel did not follow it.
The dexterous hand price collapse is the largest cost movement this component category has recorded, and it took about two years. The industry average was roughly 50,000 RMB a unit in 2024. In 2026 the same reporting puts it under 10,000 RMB, with six-degree-of-freedom hands quoted at 6,000 to 8,000 RMB. That is about 80% against the 2024 level.
A second estimate disagrees, and both are published here. It puts the current range at 15,000 to 20,000 RMB, from the same 50,000 RMB starting point. The two readings differ by a factor of two, which is normal in a market this young.

How much did a dexterous hand cost before the collapse?
The long version of the curve comes from one model line with four public points. The Inspire RH56 sold for more than 1,000,000 RMB a hand before 2020, at a volume of one or two units a year. At the 2020 mass-production launch the vendor put it under 100,000 RMB. By 2024-25 the mainstream model sat at about 20,000 RMB, with the shelf running from 10,000 to 50,000 RMB.
The vendor's explanation is manufacturing, not marketing. In-house micro servo cylinders and integrated joints, in a plant rated at 500,000 cylinders and about 50,000 hands a year, is a cost structure a research-hardware business cannot match. The hardware did not get simpler to justify the price: the RH56 record lists the same six actuated degrees of freedom across 12 joints, 540 g mass and RS-485 throughout.
Two of those four points are graded C. The pre-2020 figure describes a market where one or two units sold a year, and there may never have been a published list price to archive.
Can I buy at the collapse price outside the home market?
Mostly no, and the gap is the most useful number here. The same RH56DFX model name lists between $5,600 and $20,599 in US channels, a 3.7x spread on one part in one year. The higher listings bundle a wrist adapter, cabling and warranty handling, and at least one appears to price a configured system rather than a bare hand.
The pattern repeats. AGIBOT's OmniHand 2025 is 14,800 RMB on a domestic storefront and $5,999 in a US listing. The whole US shelf runs from $380 to $35,000, a 92x spread that no single average survives. The domestic price table keeps ten RMB observations beside six export comparators for that reason.
Two caveats belong next to those ratios: they use approximate exchange rates and exclude freight, insurance, the broker's charges and configuration differences, so they are not landed costs. The landed-cost guide covers what has to be added, and same hand, three prices covers what the extra money buys.
Why did the price fall this far?
Volume paid for it. Shipments ran about 19,200 units in 2025, are projected at 70,200 in 2026, 200,000 in 2028 and more than 430,000 by 2030, a compound annual growth rate near 87%. That is a forecast, not a measurement.
Component costs moved with it. Micro motors, ball screws and tendon drives are quoted at one-fifth to one-tenth of the prices asked for the same parts by overseas suppliers, according to the same industry reporting.
Demand moved too. Adoption of hands with six or more active degrees of freedom fell in the first half of 2026 even as humanoid shipments grew, because early industrial tasks do not need that dexterity. The volume sits in the entry-level hand.
What do the six numbers leave out?
Three things change a purchase decision.
- The other end of the market did not move. The PaXini DexH13, a tactile hand with 13 actuated joints, is still listed at 98,000 RMB domestically and $19,800 in US channels, and the Shadow Hand publishes no price at all. The collapse so far is a six-degree-of-freedom event.
- Repair is not in the sticker. One industry estimate puts replacement or repair at 10,000 to 20,000 RMB roughly every three months, which for a 50-robot fleet runs into tens of millions of RMB a year. A 6,000 RMB hand that fails quarterly costs more per year than a 20,000 RMB hand that does not.
- The cheap price is often a promotion. The 3,900 RMB entry point is a post-promotion platform price with unpublished terms, so it is not a comparable factory-gate cost.
Treat the six numbers as a map of where the market has been, not as a price you can order at. The quarterly price panel publishes dated observations instead of an index value, and the methodology explains why one average across a 92x spread would be invented rather than measured.

Questions
How much did dexterous hand prices fall?
About 80% against the 2024 level on the industry average, from roughly 50,000 RMB a unit to under 10,000 RMB in 2026, with six-degree-of-freedom models quoted at 6,000 to 8,000 RMB. One model line, the Inspire RH56, fell from more than 1,000,000 RMB before 2020 to about 20,000 RMB in 2024-25.
Is the cheapest listed hand the cheapest to own?
No. The lowest domestic listing found is 3,900 RMB for a LinkerBot O6 Lite after a platform promotion whose terms are unpublished, and one industry estimate puts hand repair or replacement at 10,000 to 20,000 RMB roughly every three months. A quarterly repair bill overtakes a sticker-price saving quickly.
Why is the same hand still $5,600 in the United States?
Because the RMB figures are factory-gate prices in one market. An export listing adds reseller margin, warranty handling, documentation, freight and the broker's charges, and sometimes a wrist adapter. The gap is channel structure, not a different hand.
Do cheaper hands have fewer degrees of freedom?
Largely, yes. The models under 10,000 RMB are six-degree-of-freedom hands built for grasping, while tactile hands carry 13 to 20 actuated joints and list from 98,000 RMB. Analysts recorded a fall in adoption of hands with six or more active joints in the first half of 2026, even as total shipments rose.
