PaXini builds tactile sensors first and hands second, and the DexH13 GEN2 reflects that order. The vendor's English specification page lists 1,140 ITPU multidimensional tactile units across 3,420 signal channels, covering 15 sensing capabilities, plus an 8 MP camera in the palm. That density is the product. Everything else is a competent five-finger hand built to carry it.

Thirteen active degrees of freedom plus three passive gives 16 total, with a 15 N maximum fingertip force, 5 kg rated payload and a 1.5 s minimum open-close time. Communication is EtherCAT or Modbus rather than the CAN bus most of this market uses, which matters if your controller stack is already built around one of them.

Two price curves, one product

The hand is reported at 98,000 RMB domestically and $19,800 on a US storefront. A separate PaXini tactile sensor component, the PX6AX GEN4, is reported at 199 RMB in press coverage of the price collapse. Those two numbers are often quoted together as evidence that tactile sensing has collapsed in price. It has not collapsed inside the hand: the sensing component got cheap, the calibrated, packaged, supported system did not.

That gap is integration, calibration, firmware and support, and it is the most useful structural fact in the Chinese price data. It is also why the quarterly price panel keeps component and system observations in separate rows.

Read the lifetime claim carefully

The specification page states one million press-release cycles, attributed to the company's own laboratory. No test protocol, sample size, load profile or failure criterion is published. The 15 N force figure carries the same caveat. Both are vendor-stated, which is not the same as wrong, but a million cycles measured at one load does not transfer to another, and the number should not be compared with a competitor's MTBF figure.

Who should not buy it

Do not buy it if you need a cheap five-finger hand for pick-and-place: at 98,000 RMB it is four times the price of the models that do that job. Do not buy it for research that needs per-joint torque sensing, which is the Allegro's strength. Buy it if the purchase is justified by contact-location data rather than force magnitude, and budget for the integration work that turns 3,420 channels into something your controller can use.

What is not verified

Open fields
  • No vendor or store page has been captured for the 98,000 RMB figure.
  • The $19,800 US listing has not been confirmed as GEN2 rather than another revision.

Questions buyers ask

How many tactile sensors does the DexH13 GEN2 have?

1,140 ITPU units across 3,420 signal channels, according to the vendor's English specification page.

Does the 199 RMB sensor price mean the hand is cheap?

No. That figure is for a separate PX6AX GEN4 sensor component. The hand is reported at 98,000 RMB domestically.

What is the service life?

The vendor states one million press-release cycles from its own laboratory, with no published protocol. Treat it as a vendor claim.
