Analysis

Buy dexterous hand distributor stock, or order direct?

When you buy dexterous hand distributor stock at $10,500, the warranty sits in the order confirmation, not the page. What each route carries.

The short version

A dealer listing at $10,500 states a price, a backorder and a payload, and no warranty term at all. When you buy dexterous hand distributor stock the enforceable terms sit in the order confirmation, and the return path is priced by whoever agreed to carry it.

When you buy dexterous hand distributor stock, you are buying three things at once: the unit, the terms the dealer holds with the maker, and the dealer's willingness to stand behind both. The price is published. The other two usually are not.

The lowest verifiable US listing for an Inspire RH56DFX on November 7, 2026 was $10,500, marked Backorder. The page states ROS support, 0.54 kg and 6 DOF over 12 motor joints. It states no warranty term. The Wuji Hand 2 page on the same site is more explicit about the relationship: authorized distributor, in-house support, and a note that the exact support scope is confirmed with the configuration.

That last sentence is the argument of this page. A dealer channel turns a long-distance repair into a domestic conversation and prices the conversion into the unit. Whether that is worth the premium depends on terms you have to ask for.

Which route carries the warranty after the first year?

Both routes start with a manufacturer term of about a year, and the difference appears in month thirteen.

On the direct route you are the importer. A failed hand travels back across the same border it came through, with export paperwork, air freight and entry handled by you or your broker. The repair may be free and the trip will not be. On the dealer route the hand goes to a domestic address, and the question becomes whether the dealer holds a replacement or a repair slot.

That question has a published answer only when the dealer writes one. The listing above does not. So the practical test is a sentence in the order confirmation: what happens to a hand that fails in month fourteen, who pays the freight in each direction, and how many weeks the buyer waits.

Can I return a hand a dealer never agreed to take back?

Read the return terms before the price. The dealer return page checked on November 7, 2026 asks buyers to make contact before returning anything, to wait for authorization and shipping instructions, and states that custom, configured, opened, installed or used hardware may not be returnable, with the order terms controlling.

Three things are absent from that page, and all three cost money: who pays return freight, what the restocking fee is, and how a configured hand is treated when the configuration is a wrist adapter and a cable set. A hand ordered with a mount is arguably configured, which is the version most integrators buy.

The dealer terms page adds one more line worth quoting to a budget owner: quotes are estimates and an order is accepted only when confirmed in writing. A quote is a starting document, and the confirmation is the contract.

What direct keeps, and what it costs to keep it

Buying from the maker removes a margin and adds four jobs.

  • Freight and insurance. One unit ships air, and a foam-cut case can double the volumetric weight that air freight bills on.
  • Entry. Your broker files it, and the charge arrives as a separate invoice with no relationship to the price you negotiated.
  • Documentation. URDF or MJCF, the bus protocol, and an SDK that runs before purchase. A dealer often assembles this; a factory may not have an English version.
  • Support hours. Integration questions land on your engineers, in a time zone that may not overlap.

The trade is real in both directions. The RH56 record shows the same model at $5,600 through one storefront and $20,599 through a dealer comparison page, and the domestic price record shows what the unit costs before any of this handling exists. Neither number is the price of the same bundle.

A short checklist before you choose

  1. Ask for the order confirmation draft with the warranty term, the return-freight payer and the lead time stated.
  2. Ask for the price and lead time of one finger assembly, one motor and one harness.
  3. Ask which Incoterm the quote uses, and get the gross weight and case dimensions.
  4. Ask what the dealer does with a hand that fails outside the manufacturer term.
  5. Price both routes to a landed number using the landed-cost guide.

A dealer who answers all five is selling a service and charging for it. A dealer who answers two is a shipping address with a logo, and the method page explains why this site records that distinction rather than ranking vendors. The RFQ template turns the five questions into one email.

Questions

Is a distributor more expensive than buying direct?

Usually on the sticker and sometimes not on the total. A dealer listing for the RH56DFX was $10,500 on November 7, 2026 against about 20,000 RMB domestic, but the dealer absorbs freight, entry, a domestic swap on failures and support hours. Price both routes to a landed number before deciding.

Who pays return freight on a warranty repair?

Whoever the order confirmation says. The dealer return page checked on November 7, 2026 asks buyers to request authorization and shipping instructions before sending hardware, and names no payer. Get the sentence in writing before the deposit.

Does a dealer keep spare fingers in stock?

Ask for a price and a lead time for one finger assembly, one motor and one harness. That answer separates a dealer with a service business from a forwarding address.
